KK’s Hardware Ltd specialises in supplying general hardware goods and construction materials. The business was established in 1987 with one store, and after 27 years, KK’s Hardware has expanded to three branches in Nadi. The company is expected to expand further into other parts of Fiji.
MDF is partnering with KK’s Hardware to distribute aglime to sugarcane farmers at their farm gates in Viti Levu’s western division – Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka and Ba. An estimated 1750 farmers in this area will be reached through these refined distribution channels, potentially increasing the sugarcane yields across the island and enabling farmers to recuperate from Tropical Cyclone (TC) Winston that devasted most parts of Fiji in late February 2016, faster. This new partnership means that aglime distribution will cover all major agricultural centres in Fiji’s western division, providing farmers with access to alternative inputs to address soil acidity and improve crop yield while ensuring crop resilience during natural disasters. MDF is also working with KK’s Hardware to import seeds to offer farmers more varieties of on an off season crops. This distribution partnership also provides means for movement of other inputs including seeds.
