“At times, entrepreneurs are so confident about their research and investment and step into the businesses thinking it will be an automatic success. That’s not always the case! I had great interest and energy to enter this space, but I lacked experience. I will be honest, I was struggling because of these reasons. I got lucky when MDF introduced me to one of their entrepreneur partners who also works in silage in my region. I got a chance to visit his farm occasionally and witness on-farm activities. I learned the tricks of the trade in this field. It clarified all my queries, such as which machinery to buy, how much silage to produce to ensure it’s baled in time, how and when to sell it and how to conduct awareness sessions.”- Shabana Kamar, Silage entrepreneur

“The [MDF-supported] revolving fund seems to have broken an impasse on risk management: usually, those who would benefit most are the least likely to have access to funding. MDF allowing us to get over this hurdle and letting us manage a revolving fund without interest charges, without collateral, without default risk, is nothing short of impressive.”
