Vanuatu Solar Demand Study

This study examines demand for solar energy across Vanuatu to help inform policy, financing design, and market development strategies. It explores household and small business attitudes towards solar systems, including adoption barriers, payment preferences, and desired system size.

This report is based on in-person surveys of 445 respondents conducted between August and October 2025. The sample focused on certain communities within Efate and its offshore islands, Santo and Malo, and Tanna, and is not nationally representative. Findings should be understood as illustrative of patterns among those surveyed rather than as population-level estimates for Vanuatu.
