Facilitating Quality Research in Samoa
Facilitating quality research and data-driven public policy in Samoa!
Quality research and data can inform good public policy and legislation, and investments by businesses. In Samoa, obtaining quality research and data can be challenging.
MDF is supporting the Samoa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) to set up a Business and Economic Policy Research (BEPR) unit to facilitate the development of research and data that can be used by the Government of Samoa, businesses, and other interested stakeholders.
The SCCI recently welcomed Ms. Tiataylormaria Niualuga as a Business Economic Research Policy Officer, and Ms. Priscillasydney Maa as a Climate Change Officer. Ms. Maa will collaborate with SCCI staff and projects to enhance the relevance of climate change initiatives and strengthen SCCI's position as a catalyst in securing additional Climate Change funding.
By gathering, analysing, and disseminating data and research related to business and the economy, the SCCI can ultimately have a positive impact on business, policy, and programs, improving the lives of Samoan people.
